Laughter and Reflection: A Conversation with Carol Burnett Where the Audience Asks the Questions
January 26, 2013
UA Centennial Hall

Burnett says, “I love the spontaneity of these evenings. I never know what anybody is going to say or do or ask.” Six-time Emmy Award winning actor, comedian, singer, dancer and writer, Carol Burnett has enjoyed the kind of career that most performers only dream of, earning more People’s Choice Awards than any other woman in the award show’s history. Renowned for her expansive humor and the long-running CBS variety hour, “The Carol Burnett Show” – that ran for 11 seasons and garnered 25 Emmy Awards – the multi-talented actress has earned five Golden Globes, the Peabody Award for “Friendly Fire” and the Ace Award for “Between Friends.” She was awarded the 2005 Presidential Medal of Freedom, received 2003 Kennedy Center Honors and has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Burnett will offer audience members the rare opportunity to engage in hilarious banter, just as she opened her weekly TV show.
