Education & Outreach

UApresents is committed to education and outreach. Our extensive programs reach nearly 15,000 students and community members every year.

In the Schools takes professional performing artists directly to our local schools. In partnership with Tucson Unified School District (TUSD), Sunnyside Unified School District (SUSD), and the Wildcat School, dance, music, and theatre artists perform at local high schools for thousands of area students. The performances are provided at no cost to the schools or the students, providing an invaluable opportunity to experience the live performing arts.

Visit the In the Schools page.

The Annual Children’s Festival
serves young children and their families in Tucson and southern Arizona. The annual festival provides free interactive arts education activities and access to information about education and social service programs in the community.

Visit the Children's Festival page.

Student Critic Program
works with students from Desert View High School (SUSD) and the University of Arizona. Students develop their critical thinking and writing skills by attending UApresents performances for no cost, writing reviews of the shows, and working with UA mentors. To read the reviews and for more information, visit the Student Critic page.

Master Classes and Artist Lectures give high school and college students professional level training and arts education, taught by the artists that perform at Centennial Hall. Partners include UA College of Fine Arts, TUSD, and SUSD.

Ticket Donation Program donates thousands of tickets to underserved children and their families throughout Tucson to shows at Centennial Hall. We work closely with nearly 40 social service organizations and schools in our community.

Post-Show Discussions offer audience members an opportunity to interact with artists after performances, often facilitated by UA faculty.

Arts Encounters
provide outstanding educational opportunities for audience members to learn about UApresents artists, taught by UA professors.

Patio Performances
bring students and local artists to the Centennial Hall patio for outdoor performances before many Centennial Hall shows.

Student Tickets
allow any student to attend most UApresents shows for just $15.

UApresents is proud to support Tucson Values Teachers and to recognize this month’s Teacher of the Month:
Carla Garcia, Amphitheater School District
