TAO: Martial Art of Drumming

Saturday, February 20, 2010, 8pm
UA Centennial Hall

Explosive Taiko drumming and innovative choreography combine to create a remarkable display of precision, energy and stamina. The Chicago Tribune raves, “Extraordinarily talented… incomparable muscular zeal.” The stars of TAO live and train at a compound in the mountains of Japan, reaching the highest level of virtuosity only after years of intensive study. The Sunday Times raved, “(they are) fiercely fit wadaiko drummers, sweating and grunting and generating enough power to spin a turbine…. The sound and the fury are electrifying.”
